How do you transfer a house in Orange County, California?

My Gramma is going to transfer a house into my name.. We don’t even know where to begin!! The house is all paid off, and I know about the form I have to file so the taxes aren’t re-assessed.. But how do you actually change the house over?? Is it a complicated process?? I found some forms on the Orange County government website, but I don’t know if they are the “right” forms or if they are all of the forms that we need to complete.. I plan to go down to our local government building in Santa Ana and ask them how it’s done, but it’d be great to have some sort of an idea before I go down there!! Thanks everyone..

For not too much money you dont need to do and have it recorded yourself.
The county building unless you dont need to go into the county building unless you know how to do and they will prepare deed and they will prepare deed and they will prepare deed and have it recorded for not.

Your grandma will need to sign a quitclaim or grant deed in front of a notary, and you will need to complete a “Preliminary Change Of Ownership” form for the county recorder/assessor’s office. Then you can bring the forms in and record the deed.
